Hello, I'm glad you stopped by.

I am a big-picture thinker and execution-focused dreamer who has devoted his career to solving problems through design. I specialise in building and leading highly engaged and effective design practices by inspiring teams through Design Thinking principles, insight-based decision making and a nurturing mindset.

Most recently, I built a successful product design, research and Design Thinking practice that enabled Fluent Commerce to achieve recognition as a leader in the Forrester Wave™, an industry benchmark for Order Management Systems. Before that:

  • I was a founding member and co-creator of a UX vision and strategy for a disability startup called Kinora that won an AFR BOSS Most Innovative Companies award

  • I worked as a design leader at eBay where I built an impactful UX practice,  introduced Design Thinking and founded many company-wide initiatives that enabled eBay Australia to receive global recognition as an innovation hub

  • I co-founded a VoIP software startup acquired by BroadSoft (acquired by Cisco).

I also speak, advise and mentor on product design, UX and Design Thinking.

Design Thinking Playbook

A human-centred, insight-driven innovation playbook designed to establish Design Thinking and achieve a vision of co-creation with our customers.

Role: Head of Product Design, Fluent Commerce.

Understanding Customers (Personas)

Developing personas to amplify our customer obsession into an inclusive, engaging, enabling, and living understanding and representation of customers that can be brought to life throughout the product development framework.

Unified View of Inventory (UVOI)

This feature is one of many examples where we practised Design Thinking hands-on in the creation of the experience. Educating, working with new and modern practices, and changing the perception of Design with our colleagues along the way. This was a landmark feature in our objective as a design team to bring Design Thinking to Fluent Commerce.

Kinora

A breakthrough project disrupting the way people living with disability live their best lives. A marketplace and community creating a network of support and care.

Role: Founding member, UX strategy and design.

eBay Hack Week

eBay’s annual hackathon focussed on the highly successful member rewards program, eBay Plus. We unearthed innovative real-world solutions, and left participants with a renewed energy, focus, and everyday frameworks for innovation.

Role: Facilitator & coach.

eBay Pantry

A UX team lead a project into online grocery shopping on eBay. Spearheaded a best-practice customer-validated process from discovery to development.

    A curated deals experience for our deals seekers who were not interested in trawling through the sea of eBay inventory. They wanted BIN (Buy it now), quality items from trusted sellers with deep discounts.
