eBay Deals
As the lead designer on this curated deals experience my challenge was to create a seamless finding experience (without search) for our deals seekers. Once the relevant deal(s) was found the challenge was to provide the right information and triggers to promote conversion. Finally, the experience needed to be scalable as the business ramped up from 5k to 10k products and beyond. A key driver of conversion was ensuring the customer understood the value proposition of this experience which was the differentiator between all deals on eBay (core site) and this curated experience.
Business Objective
Build and grow a curated deals experience supplied by trusted local merchants with high discounts and quality ‘buy it now’ products across all major categories. Grow Australia’s revenue.
Customer Problem
As an eBay deals shopper It is difficult to sift through an ocean of inventory to find deals on good quality, deep discounted products. It is difficult to distinguish between a vast number of sellers all selling the same product.
Design Challenge
Establish an understanding of the deal’s value proposition which underpins the entire experience.
Guide customers from the deals hub through to the right category landing to ensure customers efficiently find and purchase relevant products
Provide the right information for customers to make an informed decision.
